15 Days Luxury Uganda Tour

Day 1: Arrival 45 min drive
Arrive at the airport to be picked up by the company representative who will transfer you to the proposed place of stay. Overnight at Serena Hotel.

Day 2: Kampala City tour
In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00am, to go visit the Kasubi tombs, the Bahai temple and the National museum. You will then be treated to a buffet of the local dishes in Uganda. Later in the afternoon, you will go visit the Namugongo martyrs shrine and then we shall transfer you back to Serena Hotel.

Day 3: Depart from Kampala (Entebbe) for Murchison Falls National Park. 5 hours drive without stops
You will be picked up from the hotel at 6 am to drive heading north of Uganda to Murchison Falls National park. This panoramic drive north-westwards takes you through the famous war zone-the Luwero Triangle. On the way, you will go visit the rhino sanctuary, before proceeding to Masindi Town for lunch. Later drive to the top of the Murchison Falls- a spectacular site for seeing the Mighty Nile compressing from up to 1 km while squeeze through a 7 meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow and a plume of spray. Day 4: Game drives/ Boat rides to the Bottom of the Falls
Start you day with a game viewing session on the northern banks of the placid Victoria Nile. This side has got a number of animals which include elephants, Oribi, Rothschild’s giraffe, lions, Cape buffalo, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena, bushbucks and leopards. Return to the lodge and relax as you wait for your lunch. After lunch go for a launch cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. While on the cruise, marvel at the toothsome hippos, the Nile crocodiles as well as a wide variety of birds. Look out for bird species such as the Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Safari lodge.

Day 5: Visit Gulu Town
On this day after breakfast, you will depart the park to drive and transfer to Gulu town. On reaching Gulu you will go visit , the different markets and the Museum and then also go visit the famous lacor hospital where LRA victims were treated with help of the catholic missionaries who fully fund this hospital. You will also go visit the Idp camp sites as these carry a lot of memories of the dark days and atrocities suffered by Innocent people. The highlight of this visit is a testimony from a victim of this insurgency.  This tour is crowned by a cultural gala composed of traditional dance performances from the native Acholi people. This an opportunity to share a light moment with the people and also appreciate the joy of living peacefully. Drive back to Murchison Falls Paraa lodge.

Day 6: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kibale NP
After breakfast you will drive southwards via Hoima to Fort Portal-a beautiful town overlooking the Rwenzori. This scenic drive passes you through verdant countryside filled with interesting scenery of the Albertine rift as well as the past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Reaching Fort portal by evening, Ndali lodge.

Day 7: Kibale- Chimpanzee tracking/ Nature walk
After an early breakfast, report to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where the park ranger guides will pick you and lead you in the search of chimpanzees. Kibale tropical moist forest also hosts 13 other primates which include the rare L’Hoest’s, red colobus, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, grey cheeked Mangabeys among others. The local guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. If you are lucky , you might find the chimps hunting and this is excruciating. After the chimp trek you will have lunch and then later in the afternoon go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland. This wetland is famous for the shoe bill stork. Overnight at Ndali Lodge.

Day 8: Fort portal
On this day, you will go for a nature walk in the carter lakes region, and also go visit the Tooro King’s Palace for an insight in the history of the Batooro. In the afternoon you will go for a nature walk on the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. On this day , you will have lunch in fortportal town, to be treated to some of the local dishes of the region. Overnight at Ndali Lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hrs drive)
In the morning you will go visit Kasese town, visit some of the markets before driving to proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park.. Kasese is a vibrant and major town of Kasese district that lies north of Lake George. It was famous for the copper mines in Kilembe and later turned to cobalt mining.. Kasese maintains the palace of Renzururu Kingdom . You will also visit this Kingdom. Overnight at Mweya Safari lodge FB.

Day 10: Game drives/ Boat ride on Kazinga Channel.
Start you day with an early morning game driving with in the park through its diverse ecosystems. Queen Elizabeth National Park has diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. On the drive expect game like lions, cape buffaloes, Defassa waterbuck, giant forest hogs, leopards, Uganda Kob, elephants, Topi and bush bucks. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax as you wait for your lunch. Proceed to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise filled with sight seeing of a vast array of wildlife. This trip not only passes you through possibly the highest concentration of hippos but also offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. We shall have an evening game drive before retiring for dinner and overnight Mweya Safari lodge.

Day 11: Game drive (Ishasha sector) Bwindi
In the morning go for a game drive in the Ishasha sector; watch out for tree climbing lions in this area. Later drive to transfer to Bwindi. The drive from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi takes around 6 hours arriving the park in the evening. Overnight a Gorilla forest camp.

Day 12: Gorilla Tracking Tour
After an early breakfast, report to the Tourist Centre for a short briefing on how the gorilla trek is to be conducted. The destination guides will lead you inside the deep moist forest to see the shy rare Mountain Gorilla. Gorilla tracking is perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth given that there are only 700 mountain gorillas remaining in the World! After tracking which usually takes between 2 and 8 hours, you will make a community visit or go for a guided nature walk on which you may see a good number of birds. In the evening after the trek, you will go visit the local community close to Bwindi. Overnight a Gorilla forest camp.

Day 13: Drive Back to Kampala.
After an early breakfast, you will drive to transfer to the airstrip the drive from the hotel to the airstrip is one hour away. The scheduled flight departure time is 9:30am. You will arrive Kajjansi airstrip at around 10:30 and our other representative will pick you up to transfer, you to Sheraton hotel. Overnight at Serena Hotel, Imperial Royale.

Day 14: Rafting.
On this day you will join the other rafters, to transfer to Jinja to go rafting on the famous river the Nile. You will go rafting for the whole day and then later in the evening relax on a cruise on the Nile. Overnight at The Haven.

Day 15: Drive back to Kampala/ Departure
In the morning you will go visit the source of the Nile, take a boat to the actual point and then later drive to transfer back to Kampala. On you way back, you will visit the Ssezibwa falls, and also the Mabira forest (Take a nature walk) , later drive to arrive Kampala in the afternoon. You will later be driven to the airport for your flight back home.

16 days Uganda Tour

Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport for this exciting Uganda Safari to be received by a delegate from Africa Nature Trekkers who will transfer you to your place of accommodation within Entebbe. Slumber at Boma Guest House

Day 2: Entebbe – Murchison falls national park
Today we set off to the most stunning protected area in the whole of Uganda which is Murchison Falls National Park. Have stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which is habitat to Uganda’s only existing wild rhinos. This reserve was established to re-initiate rhinos into the country which had been extinct ever since 1982. In the company of a guide enjoy tracking the rhinos and get an opportunity to observe in this habitat at a safe yet very close distance. From here you will carry on to Murchison Falls. Dine and slumber at Red Chilli Rest Camp.

Day 3: Murchison falls national park
Following breakfast in the early morning, set out for a game drive along the River Nile’s northern bank where you might see hartebeest, giraffes, lions, elephants, as well as diverse bird species. After lunch you will go for a launch cruise on the splendid river Nile to view the various wild animals and birds by the river banks. Once at the base of the breathtaking waterfalls then leave the boat and hike our way to the magnificent Top of the Murchison Falls where you certainly marvel at the awesome views of the great river Nile. Dine and sleep at Red Chilli Rest Camp.

Day 4: Murchison falls – Kibale forest national park
We leave Murchison Falls and drive to Fort Portal. This lengthy road-drive will take you past spectacular small villages as well as local markets in the verdant countryside. Fort Portal town lies at the bottom of the rugged Mountains of the Moon and is well-known for its numerous tea plantations. From this attractive town we then proceed to the thick forested Kibale National Park. Dine and slumber at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 5: Kibale forest & Biogi swamp
Today the Kibale forest opens its doors for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is popular of holding the largest diversity and highest population of primates in the whole of East Africa. Enjoy an exciting guided nature trek in the humid rainforest as you look for the wild chimps, white & black colobus monkeys, the red-tailed monkeys and many more. Following a warm lunch we head to the Bigodi Swamp for yet a different guided nature walk. The walk in the Bigodi Swamp is a project by the local community and is well-known for its prolific birds plus primates’ diversity. Dine and slumber at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 6: Crater lakes
On having a serene breakfast, set out to explore the crater lakes. Marvel at the awesome beauty of the various small lakes, neighboured by moderate hills, and a stunning backdrop. Hike to Lake Nkuruba to see the various primate species and profusion birds, and then visit the beautiful Mahoma Falls. Come face to face with some of locals as you walk past their villages, learn the Bator tribe traditions and pleasure in the scenic views. Dine and sleep at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 7: Kibale forest – Queen Elizabeth national park
This day you will tour the grand Rwenzori Mountain ranges in their full glory! Enjoy a guided walk through the foothills of Mt Rwenzori and learn more about the culture of the local people personal. Following this hike we will at leisure drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dine and sleep at Simba Safari Camp.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth national park
Begin the day early with a game drive in the morning and also tour the Uganda Kobs’ mating ground. We will look for lions, buffaloes as well as elephants in addition to other Africa wild animals in this natural habitat prior to returning to the camp for lunch. After lunch we take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which is a natural channel joining Lakes Edward and George. You will marvel at the plentiful bird-life dwelling in this area, and the elephants, hundreds of hippopotami plus buffaloes that gather to cooling off along the shores. Day 9: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi forest national park
Following breakfast set out to look for the chimpanzees that reside in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve, the reserve is a stunning gorge entirely covered with humid rainforest, but this is optional and not incorporated in the price quotation. After lunch leave for Bwindi National Park which is habitat to the endangered popular mountain gorillas. Dine and slumber at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 10: Gorilla tracking
Today is the highlight of this safari is meeting the tranquil giants of Bwindi Forest! This Gorilla Safari will much be loved especially by hikers as you tracking in the stunning Eco-system within the park. Look forward to Gorilla trekking for a long distance on the steep muddy slopes of Bwindi, sometimes with a visual projection of rain, before you come face to face with any mountain gorillas. However it will be worthwhile as you finally encounter these Mountain Gorillas closely as they feed, play as well as rest. This is an exceptional as well as unforgettable encounter! Those who are not interested in gorilla tracking can opt for a guided forest trek or explore the neighboring communities like the Buhoma Village. Dine and sleep at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 11: The Batwa experience
Even though Bwindi is mostly known for its mountain gorillas it offers much more than you expect. You will get an opportunity to pleasure in the Batwa Experience, which will be a personal opening to one among the exceptional cultures in the world. These Batwa pygmies are a group of forest-dwelling people who were relocated from the verdant rainforest which they shared habitat with the famed mountain gorillas. This thrilling experience will enable you to learn much more about the ancient culture of these people as you pleasure in a hike in the company of Batwa guides. You will hear about their long ago agents, observe how they hunted, see their medicinal plants and also learn about their lifestyle. The income collected from this activity directly profits the Batwa community. Dine and sleep at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 12: Bwindi national park – Lake Bunyonyi
On having breakfast we leave for Lake Bunyonyi, which is the 2nd deepest lake in the whole of Africa. Unwind, enjoy a swim or head for an exciting canoe trip as you marvel at the gorgeous sunset. Dine and slumber at Bushara Island camp.

Day 13: Visit the Local Markets and Nature walks
In the morning after breakfast, you will go visit the local market and meet local people selling their products. You will also be given a brief history about the this Island and also go for a nature walk to the caves and a village walk. Overnight at Bushara island camp.

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala
Begin the day early by joining in the cattle-field to milk the local long-horned cows. After having breakfast we set off from the gorgeous lake and return to Kampala. On the way we will stop at the Equator to take some photographs and visit the souvenir shop. Late in the afternoon arrive in the capital Kampala in the late afternoon to sleep at Grand Imperial Hotel.

Day 15: Kampala – Jinja
After enjoying breakfast we set off from the busy city and drive east towards Jinja. Jinja is located on the large Lake Victoria, and it is here that the source of the Nile originates. On our way we will make a stop at the verdant Mabira Forest which is among the largest as well as most gorgeous tropical forests in the country. This forest hike will allow you to better stretch-out your legs and offer you opportunities of seeing various primate species, birds plus multi-colored butterflies. Proceed to Jinja town where you will have lunch and unwind through the afternoon. In the evening you will go for a sunset cruise on the Nile. Dine and slumber at The Haven.

Day 16: Jinja - Departure
Today will be a day filled with so much adventure! You will go rafting at the renowned Source of the River Nile. Following a briefing you will begin peddling and marveling at the gorgeous scenery as well as the thundering rapids on the Nile! Look out for the prolific birdlife as you quietly float past the rapids on the Nile. Persons not interested in rafting can opt to have a peaceful boat-ride to the Source of the Nile to observe the rafters enjoying the magnificent Bujagali Falls. Later in the evening you will depart Jinja to transfer to Entebbe, for your flight back home. End of tour.
