UGANDA CONSULATE ~ Travel And Tourism

Travel and Tourism

Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa, with fantastic natural scenery, Half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population is in uganda.

It also offers world-class white water rafting at the source of nile and some of the region's more peaceful national parks, where wildlife viewing doesnt involve long waits in line behind a dozen or more vehicles. The natural attraction are among the best in the region, and as tourism is still being re-established, there simply aren't the crowds found elsewhere.

Take your pick from the highest mountain range in Africa, the Rwenzori Mountains; one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, Murchison Falls; or perhaps the highest primate density in the world, in kabale forest National park - Uganda has all this and more. It's a beautiful country with a great deal to offer, and sooner or later the tourist hordes will 'discover' its delights - make sure you get there before they do.

Uganda - birds

Uganda has more bird species per square kilometre than any other country in Africa. Uganda can boast a national list of 1008 species. This figure represents more than half the bird species that can be found in the whole of Africa. The key to Uganda’s diversity is its variety of habitats: arid semi-dessert, rich savannahs, lowland and montane rainforests, vast wetlands, volcanoes and an Afro-alpine zone. Uganda covers an altitude from 650m to 5000m

Mostly, tropical forest found in them supports this diversity. They contain endemic, rare and endangered species of animals, bird, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians and plants. Some of them are so species rich that they have rankings in the region and world.
